MMRC and Unity Park, a park and also a religious place

I have visited this place several times. Once with my friends, again for my mom's school picnic and for a family picnic too. The park covers a large area. There are a number of temples for worship. All the buildings and construction works are beautifully done.

The trees and flowers growing there are very much taken care of by its care takers. This place is a man-made or we can say a developed place but now it is becoming one where nature flaunts. I enjoy the beauty of this place, far away from city.

MMRC and Unity Park is a multipurpose, multi-dimensional research centre as well as a tourist recreation park located at Khangabok village near NH-39. It is a cultural centre, agriculture and allied activities centre, religious centre for all religions, historical centre, sports centre as well as a tourist centre. It was founded under the guidance of Menjor Mangang,Chairman, K.M Blooming Association, Khangabok.

This recreational park in Manipur is promoting the message of communal harmony in the state. It is also serving as a tourist attraction park which provides comfort to people who likes to relax and desire to rest in a peaceful environment.

Our generation is unfortunate that we do not see any houses which was built in the olden days in our areas now. There are still some in far areas but we can hardly find it. So, we are lucky enough to see a Meitei Yumjao been beautifully built here. Inside the yumjao, there are traditional dresses of our different communities of Manipur. We can also see a statue of a Meitei woman performing Phou shuuba, the practise of hulling the rice with wood in a stone container. We can also hull kabok, an indigenious food of Manipur in the same manner.

The mission of this park  is UNITY, DEVELOPMENT and PEACE. I have also come across the founder of the park expressing words about it in a newspaper, " I am planning to learn more from the other parks in India and other neighboring countries which can be of help economically and socially in our society. I would like to provide the best facilities to the visitors. And also, I want all the visitors to be equally treated and make them feel at ease."

This park represents several communities. It has Ibudhou Pakhangba (A Meitei Traditional religion) temple, a hindu temple, a church, a mosque located all inside it. This helps in contributing and promoting communal harmony in the state and country at large.
