Kakching Garden, Kakching

I am writing for this place both from my own experience of my visit there and I have also taken the help of other writings about the place.

Kakching Garden is situated at Uyok Ching which is in the southern part of the Kakching Bazar. It was developed by Y. Surchandra Singh, honorable MLA for Kakching constituency when he was elected as MLA. All the infrastructures were constructed and developed by him with the help of the people of Kakching. Under his great care, this site is developed beautifully and is now becoming a spot for tourist attraction. The road which could reach upto the top of the Uyok Ching is blacktopped properly so that vehicles can be reached to the parking area. People come and visit this place for picnic, film shooting and especially for worship. The main Gods and Goddesses of this place are - Mahadev, Ibudhou Pakhangba and the Hao Sampubi. In addition, there is the beautiful rose garden with varieties of rose and flowers of different hues. People also come here for conducting ushops (feasts) because there is proper mandop (a place to conduct ceremonies and functions,etc). 

Ibudhou Pakhangba Temple

Ibudhou Pakhangba is considered to be the supreme God of the Meitei tradition as well as Manipuri mythology. The Pakhangba emblem is present in most of the emblems of the Princely state of Manipur. Ibudhou Pakhangba is also known as the Great Dragon God of the Universe and Protector of the Earth. He is the son of Atingkok Maru Sidaba and Leimarel Sidabi. Lainingthou Sanamahi, the Guardian God of mankind and the supreme deity of the household of Sanamahism (Manipuri Religion), is his sibling. Mangang, Luwang, Khuman, Angom, Salai Leishangthem, Kha Nganba and Moilang are his children.

The Mahadeva Temple

This Lord Mahadeva Temple of Kakching Garden is attracting a lot of people unprecedentedly. Sajibu Nongma Panba also called Sajibu Cheiraoba is the lunar new year festival of the people of Manipur. Every Cheiraoba, this Mahadeva Temple is attracting a lot of people to come and worship and it has been increasing through the years.

Haoreima Sampubi

This sculptor of Haoreima Sampubi in the garden has been beautifully sculpted by Tongbram Seikhasana Meitei from Sagolband Tera Yambem Leirak. He also resculpted the Lord Mahadeva on the skeleton of the previous sculpture, which developed cracks and had broken down. These two giant sculptures was made up of different materials, Haoreima Sampubi by marble and Lord Mahadeva by cement. The Ibudhou Pakhangba temple was also sculpted by him. He took the copy from a temple in China and the only difference is the dragon sculpted on the pillar of the temple.

Kakching Garden is a very beautiful place from my own experience of my visit there. I would like to recommend this place.

And, one should never forget to buy Kakching bora and chaak-hao tan while visiting this place.These are famous for their special taste.
